Polyester consists of soft synthetic polymer fibers that are made through a chemical reaction between alcohols, carboxylic acids and petroleum by-products. The resulting fibers are then stretched and oriented together to form strong yarns that naturally repel water, resist staining, UV degradation and withstand frequent use.

Compared to other mesh materials, polyester fabrics exhibit many favorable characteristics that make them suitable for a variety of industrial, commercial and recreational applications, such as
Polyester mesh fabrics are highly resilient and inherently resistant to damage and degradation caused by acidic and alkaline chemicals, corrosion, flame, heat, light, mold and mildew, and abrasion.
Polyester is a common fiber available in most textile manufacturing plants. When treated with lightweight resins, webs are easy to install (sewn) and clean, reducing the excess time and labor required for their integration and maintenance.
Polyester mesh is hydrophobic - i.e., tends to repel water - which means excellent pigment absorption and drying time. Overall, these properties lend themselves to the material being used in a wide range of applications, including those involving outdoor and harsh environmental conditions.
Polyester fibers exhibit good elasticity, which allows the material to return to its original shape after stretching by as much as 5-6%. It is important to note that mechanical stretching is not the same as fiber stretching. One can design high-stretch materials with dimensionally stable yarns.
As mentioned above, polyester mesh fabrics are versatile. Some of the industries that regularly use the material and its parts, products include
Curtains, cargo nets, seat belts, seat support substrates, document pockets and tarpaulins for the aerospace, automotive and marine industries.
Filters and screens for the filtration industry.
Curtains, brackets, IV bag holders, and patient bibs and support systems for the medical and healthcare industries
Occupational safety industry for cut-resistant clothing, high-visibility undershirts and safety signs
Recreational sporting goods industry for breeding equipment, camping supplies backpacks, etc.), golf simulator impact screens, and protective screens.
The exact performance of the polyester mesh fabric used depends on the application and the needs of the industry.
