Our Ratings
What We Like
Incredibly soft
Warm without being overwhelming
Doesn't shed or attract lint
What We Don't Like
Large size is heavy to move around
Slightly slippery feel
If what you really want is a super soft and comfortable blanket that's sizable enough to engulf you, you'll love the UnHide Marshmallow. Made of a synthetic material meant to mimic chinchilla fur, the Marshmallow is ultra-fluffy and better equipped to retain its fluff than real fur'no matter how long your binge-watching session is.
What's more, our testers said the blanket, which is made of 90 percent recycled materials, didn't shed or attract pet hair. (Perfect for those with allergies.) Because of this, the blanket can also be machine-washed without damage. Our tester washed the blanket on the delicate setting and dried it for 15 minutes without heat before draping it over a drying rack. It dried in less than 24 hours.
The size of the blanket is both a pro and a con, depending on how you look at it. While our testers liked that the queen size covered their body (and then some!), they noted that the 9.5-pound weight was a bit heavy to move around and even fold up after use. Of course, you could also always opt for one of UnHide's more lightweight blankets'like the Lil' Marsh, which weighs half as much and comes in three different sizes.

Our Ratings
What We Like
Durable construction
Feels as soft as high-end blankets
Neutral hues and fun patterns
What We Don't Like
Colors can vary
If you're looking for soft, sumptuous faux fur on a budget, we love this blanket from Better Homes & Gardens (Better Homes & Gardens is owned by The Spruce's parent company, Dotdash Meredith.) Impressively soft to the touch, in our testing we loved how quickly this blanket warmed us up in cold weather. It's lightweight enough to offer some nice breathability, but still thick enough to warm up underneath.
We also like that this blanket is available in a selection of neutral hue that mimic real fur as well as some fun, eye-catching patterns that can add a pop of contrast and color. Plus, it's nicely durable; we were able to wash this blanket regularly without any signs of wear appearing.
The only slight drawback to this soft, lighter-weight faux fur throw? The color of the blanket in person may be slightly different that what's visible in photos online. The white, for example, is more of an ecru than a true crisp, snow-like white. However, we think that slight variation is nothing to worry about.

What We Like
Silky soft texture
Luxurious fur plushness
Holds up to animal wear and tear
What We Don't Like
Dry clean only
If it's a thickly plush blanket you're hoping to find, the Ugg Adalee Throw will deliver. We were quite impressed by the comfort, softness, and overall plushness this blanket provides. It is somewhat expensive for a throw, but we found it to be nicely durable and wonderfully comfortable to wrap up in. Though it's thick and plush, we also liked how it served well in both cool and cold temperatures.
We even love this faux fur blanket for pets. When we put this blanket to the test, we used it in a household with a dog, who loved curling up on it just as much as his human did. Its plushness and fur quality held strong, too, making the blanket nicely versatile in terms of how it's used.
We didn't love the care instructions for this faux fur blanket. The tag says it's dry clean only, but in our testing, we actually ran it through the washing machine and it turned out relatively fine. However, we wouldn't recommend taking that risk regularly if you want to keep the blanket in its best possible shape.

What We Like
Two size options
Long, ultra-plush pile
Velvet binding and reverse side
What We Don't Like
Shipping fee
Available in both a traditional throw size and an extra-large oversized throw option, we love Pottery Barn's Faux Fur Ruched Blanket because it's roomier than others. This faux pick looks incredibly rich wherever it's used, whether that's on an accent chair or draped over the foot of a bed. We particularly like its thickness; the 750-GSM weight makes it ideal for chilly evenings or layering in the winter months.
We also found this blanket easy to care for. You can pop it right into the washing machine at home, and it'll survive the wash without developing any signs of wear or tear (or significant shedding!)
Because this high-quality blanket is an investment, we don't love that it comes with a shipping fee. However, that's a minor detail in the grand scheme of how luxe this faux fur option looks and feels once it arrives at your home.

The Threshold's Ruched Faux Rabbit Fur Throw is extremely affordable and highly functional. Designed to look like rabbit fur, this blanket is both lightweight and warm, plus it comes in an attractive textured design. It can also be machine washed and dried without compromise.
The eye-catching ruched detailing makes it stand out from other options in this price range, perfect for sprucing up whatever piece of furniture it's draped over. Note that the ruching looks a bit crisper in the photos'in real life, it's more soft and subtle, especially after people have been sitting on it.

What We Like
Velvety finished edge makes it feel extra special and gift-worthy
Reverse side also has high-quality fabric
What We Don't Like
Can't be machine dried
Expensive
Only comes in three muted colors
This faux alpaca blanket, which is made from OEKO-TEX-certified fabric, tested for more than 400 harmful substances, has a short and dense pile that's incredibly soft and fluffy. It also has an attractive velvet border and reverses to solid polyester if you want to change things up for more of a silky feel.
"You can't help but run your fingers through the faux fur. The softness rivals any blanket or throw we've ever used,' our tester said. 'The fleece's texture feels good, but finding a good fleece isn't as hard as finding an amazing, durable faux fur. There were absolutely no little hairs or flyaways left behind.'
Because of these special touches, the Pottery Barn Faux Alpaca Throw makes a great gift'for yourself or for someone else. It even comes tied with a pretty grosgrain ribbon. Plus, you can choose from two different sizes and even get matching pillow covers.
If there's any downside'especially given the price'it's that the blanket can't take a spin in the dryer. In fact, the company suggests dry cleaning, which would cost you even more in the long-run. But there's a bit of good news: Our tester washed the blanket herself and said it dried on a drying rack in less than a day.

What We Like
Two-hour automatic shutoff for safety
Blanket adjusts heat based on room temperature
Lots of color options
What We Don't Like
Manual machine washing instructions are complex
Wires can be felt through fabric
A faux fur blanket is great, but a faux fur blanket that heats up is even better'especially if it looks as good as this one does. In fact, this blanket received perfect scores from our testers in multiple categories, including quality, warmth, and value.
The attractive blanket has a plug that is discreetly embedded at the foot of the blanket (though it's worth noting that you can feel the wires through the blanket). There's also an extra switch that keeps it from popping out during the night, as well as a two-hour safety shutoff to prevent overheating.
The silky-soft blanket is the perfect size for a single person'50 by 70 inches'and doesn't shed at all. It also comes in a dozen different color options'neutral grays, creams, and browns'so you can choose the one that best matches your space.
The blanket heats up pretty quickly, too. It has three different heat settings, but also adjusts automatically based on surrounding temperatures. Our tester turned it on high during an unexpectedly warm day, but noticed the heat delivered was minimal.
Unfortunately, due to the wiring, it's a bit complicated to wash this blanket'and the instructions aren't much help. They walk you through using manual settings in a convoluted way. Luckily, you can hand wash the blanket if you have a bath tub or a big enough sink.
Size: 50 x 70 inches | Material: Polyester | Weight: 3.56 pounds | Care: Hand wash or wash manually in machine following manufacturer instructions; line dry or tumble dry low for 5 minutes, then block and drape to dry

What We Like
Five beautiful color choices
Solid construction
What We Don't Like
Dry-cleaning is recommended
A little expensive
When it comes to faux fur, it's not always about comfort. Sometimes you really want a nice decor piece that looks just like the real thing, and in our testing we found that's exactly what you get with this option from Frontgate. It's made from fibers sourced from Japan and comes in five different colors.
We tried the Coyote, a mixture of ivory and dark and light brown tones, but you can also choose from Lynx (cream with flecks of black), Timberwolf Gray (light gray), Arctic Hare (solid white), and Chinchilla Gray Ombre (a mix of ash brown and dark gray). You can't really go wrong'each one is just as realistic as the next and looks like something you'd find in a high-end ski lodge.
The blanket is also ripe for snuggling. We can't help but praise the blanket's fabric and build quality. The only downside may be washing it: while we found the throw washed well on the machine's delicate setting, the company recommends dry-cleaning.

Our Ratings
What We Like
Very handsome
Cozy but not too heavy
Good value given its size
What We Don't Like
Could be softer
Dry-clean only
Limited color choices
Like the blanket from Frontgate, this throw has a sophisticated, realistic look that makes it an excellent statement piece in your home. It works just as well as a blanket or statement piece'perhaps draped over furniture. That's all thanks to the long hair that comes in a blend of cool light cream and dark brown tone'it makes it look just like the real thing.
Of course, as with any good faux fur blanket, it's plenty warm and comfortable, too. In tests, this blanket received the highest possible score in quality, fabric, warmth, and value. The material is soft and cozy, but is a touch thinner than some others, despite its relatively hefty size.
This isn't necessarily a drawback, though'you won't have to wrestle with it when moving it around or shifting your position on the couch. Beyond some initial shedding when taking it out of the box, it doesn't shed much either.
