When did Honda stop making the EU2000i generator?

Switching from W to W Honda generators. Are ...

In , Honda replaced the popular EUi (-watt) super-quiet series inverter generator with a more powerful model, the EUi (-watt). All Lentry® Light System models which previously consisted of a Honda EUi generator now feature the new Honda EUi (or the international equivalent, such as the Honda EU22i). This upgrade affects every Lentry Lighting System model number that begins with "2".

Is my EUi generator compatible with the new EUi generator?

Since the switch from Honda's -watt generator to the more powerful -watt generator, we've been asked this question a few times.

The answer is maybe.

Goto Voltgent to know more.

Customer's existing EUi generators will be compatible with the new EUi generators in some cases. It depends on the serial number of your generator.

Please see notice PCI..02 from American Honda Motor Co., and read carefully the paragraph about Generator Compatibility.

Please note, Ventry Solutions does not sell Honda generators by themselves. We are the original equipment manufacturer of All-Terrain Portable Lentry Power & Light Systems of which Honda EUi and EUi generators are a component. Our lighting systems also retrofit to customer's existing Honda EUi, EUi, and EUi generators, as well as their international equivalents (EU10i, EU20i, EU22i...).

When did the eu's become so hard to start

Facts About the Honda EUi:

1. Until about a year ago, the EUi was made in Japan. Now, they are made at a Honda plant in Thailand. This plant also makes the smaller Honda EUi. EUi units with a serial number EAAJ are from Japan; EAAT serial numbers are from Thailand. No Honda EU-series models have ever been made in China.

2. Honda issued a Service Bulletin a while back for some recent-production EUi and EUi that may have had contaminated fuel left in the system from the factory. The simple fix is to drain the fuel system and add fresh fuel. If you still have starting problems, the carb may require a cleaning. This can sometimes be done with fuel system cleaner, but may required removal and complete cleaning of the carburetor. The Service Bulletin applies to EUi serial numbers EAAT- ~ EAAT- only. Units with an EAAJ serial number or EAAT outside the range will not have the factory contaminated fuel problem.

3. The Honda EUi has a vacuum-operated fuel pump. It does need to achieve prime when the fuel tank is empty, and the easy way to do this is to let the fuel in the tank develop some pressure and squeeze fuel into the system; here's how to do it:
(a) Fill tank at least 1/2 way up.
(b) Turn the fuel vent lever (on the cap) to OFF. <--Important!
(c) Turn the fuel valve/switch to ON.
(d) Wait about 1 minute for the pressure to built up.
(e) Turn the fuel vent to ON. <---Important!
(f) Be sure the choke is ON, and it should only take 1-2 pulls to start.
